Why is security clearance needed if I am offered a position?

BAE Systems makes a vital contribution to products used by the UK armed services, so people working on our programmes are required by our customer to be personally cleared to national security standards. The level of security clearance needed varies according to the area of the business where people work.

Where higher levels of security clearance are needed from the outset then this can, delay your start with the company by a few months. However, we try to minimise this by starting people on Basic Check clearance wherever possible.

What will the Induction process be like?

Your first few days, weeks and months in a new role are particularly critical.  Your induction will be a two way process, it will aim to help you understand the organisation, its objectives, your role and our expectations.  It’s also an opportunity for you to meet colleagues, start to build a network of contacts and settle in.
