The role of Military Air Solutions Procurement and Supply Chain is to deliver business benefit across the airborne product portfolio through:

  • supplier performance management
  • aggregation and leverage of spend
  • management and mitigation of supply risks
  • order book / commitment file management
  • delivering value for money
  • deployment of benchmark processes and technologies
  • continued development of its people

The supply chain is recognised as a fundamental business process and the continued application of strategic sourcing, together with the appropriate use of procurement tool sets, whether traditional or e-based, is critical to optimising supply chain performance in order to meet our Customers’ Programme requirements.

The Procurement Function within Military Air Solutions, operating in a team environment with all other business areas, e.g. Operations, Engineering and Project Management, delivers its accountabilities through three business streams:

Programme Dedicated Teams, primarily responsible for:

  • Bespoke General and Avionics equipment, Weapons and Integrated Logistical Support Procurement
  • Equipment Contract Management
  • Supply Chain Performance

Shared Service Teams, primarily responsible for:

  • Direct Materials Procurement
  • Subcontracts Procurement
  • Major Equipment Business Management

Functional Teams, primarily responsible for:

  • Governance
  • Business Systems
  • Supply Improvement
  • People
