Engineering Opportunities

Engineering is at the heart of our business and BAE Systems’ engineers of all disciplines play a central role in ensuring the delivery of our Projects to time, budget and customers’ expectations. They are involved in all phases of the life-cycles of our Projects - from Autonomous Systems and Future Capability (Air) design through development, manufacturing, and in-service support.

You could find yourself embedded in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) in one of our major product streams; or assigned to one of our specialist Engineering shared service areas. Wherever you’re placed, you will find yourself in a multi-disciplined environment working alongside staff from a wide variety of other functional backgrounds such as Project Management, Commercial or Manufacturing.

We provide a world-class training and development framework and the opportunity to work in different projects and different stages of the engineering life-cycle through your career.

Degree (or equivalent) educated, you’ll need a broad and comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, practices and standards. You’ll have at least 2 years’ experience (5+ years' for more senior roles) and be ready to apply your engineering knowledge in our high technology environment.

We are seeking people to fill roles at various levels from engineer to senior engineer to team leader with salaries ranging from £21,000 to beyond £40,000. We are also looking to fill a small number of more senior roles with higher salaries.


Salaries

Military Air Solutions operates fair and transparent recruitment and development policies that are based on merit and actively encourage people to realise their potential within the organisation. The following provides guidance on starting salaries, but subject to satisfactory performance individuals could expect to receive increments as they develop into the job and gain experience:

  • A new starter with around 2 years' post qualification engineering experience could expect to start on a salary between £22k and £24k.
  • Experienced engineers with around 5+ years' experience could expect to start on a salary between £24k and £28k.
  • Experienced staff being recruited into lead engineer or team leader roles could expect starting salaries from £28k.
