Nimrod MRA4

The Nimrod MRA4 is a modern, highly capable, fully integrated Marine Patrol Aircraft weapon system. The only jet powered Marine Patrol Aircraft in current operation, MRA4 offers unrivalled operational effectiveness for its 3-in-1 maritime patrol mission in Anti Submarine Warfare, Anti-Surface Unit Warfare, and Search and Rescue. Developed by upgrading Royal Air Force Nimrod MR2 aircraft to Maritime Reconnaissance Attack 4 (MRA4) standard, the programme has involved the complete replacement of the aircraft’s systems and over 80 percent of its airframe.
